Acyrlic Magnetic Note Pad Holder!

I was thinking of things to make for Kyren's teacher for an "End of the Year" gift, and came across note pad holders similar to this one, so I decided to try it and put my own spin on it. I think it came out really cute, and would be perfect to stick on the refrigerator or on a desk. (The base that the notepad is sitting on is hard acrylic with a magnet attached to the back. It is hard to tell from the picture.)

I am thinking of making a lot of these to eventually sell in a craft fair once I have made enough inventory to actually fill a booth. lol.

What do you guys think? Do you like it? Would you buy it as a gift for a teacher/Coworker/etc...?

Leave me a comment!

*EDIT*  Here is a new one I just made today using mainly CTMH products.

This week I ordered A LOT of supplies, but one of the things I am most excited for is my Martha Stewart scoring board! I can't wait to get my hands on it! It is going to make card making and paper crafts soooo much easier! I ordered mine on Amazon and it was only like $17!  Below is the link!

The other thing I am excited for is my HOT PINK heat tool that I bought from Joann's online! It was on sale for under $20 and I used the coupon code "teacher2011" upon checkout (don't type the quotations) and saved 15% on the sale price! I will post the link below.

First CTMH Cardmaking Gathering!

This weekend was full of fun and excitement! Friday night marked my first ever CTMH card making gathering, hosted by the oh so fab Jessica Fountain! (Thanks again girl for being such a great hostess!)  It really was an awesome way to spend a girls night in. There is just something about having people sit together around a table that really brings forth a sense of closeness and companionship. We enjoyed many laughs and all the girls really enjoyed learning about all the different scrapping products, and most of all everyone enjoyed putting together their own special card to take home! I was very impressed with how well everyone caught on and really put their own spin on things, even though everyone was given the same materials and instruction every one's card had a different style and flare to it which was really neat! We will definitely have to do that again ladies, because I really enjoyed myself! :o)

Here is a photo of the card we made!! Everyone did such a a great job!

If you and your friends are interested in having a great time scrapbooking/card making and learning about some really fun and neat products contact me and book your own CTMH gathering! Hostesses will be eligible for free product and 50% off items! Check out my website for more info on becoming a hostess! (Website link is at the top left corner of this page.)

Also if you are looking for a local photographer for family portraits, maternity photos, senior photos etc...Check out Jess Renee Photography (Jessica Fountain) at http://www.jessreneephotography.com/! She is amazing!

My First BLOG POST!

So I have obviously decided to start a blog. I really want to have a place to display my artwork and share special stuff with people that are interested in what I have to say. I have been using Facebook to advertise my Close to My Heart business but I hate feeling like a spammer and posting the same stuff every day to hundreds of people and half of them not even giving it a second glance. So this blog is going to be sort of a hodge podge of ideas, artwork, crafts, and day to day things that happen in my life. LOL. I have such a hard time committng to just one general topic so don't be surprised to see a bit of variety here.

Sooo, today I made my very first Studio J layouts! I have to say that I am very impressed with them. I have been so excited about my new adventure with Close to My Heart and have loved all the products, but the Studio J online scrapbooking is by far my favorite right now! There was such a variety of templates and papers and made scrapbooking fun, and the best part was IT WAS MESS FREE! lol. I also like the option to purchase a JPG file for online sharing! I will post pictures some where in this post if I can figure it out! lol. I highly suggest everyone go try Studio J! Even if you think you are the most UN-creative person alive, GO TRY IT! (Link is on the left side bar under "My Close to My Heart website") It is super easy! And it is free to try, so don't worry about having to buy something, you only pay if you want to buy. And if you like it and think you will use it more than once, make sure to read about becoming  Studio J member! You can sign up for as little as $30 for a three month membership and after your 3 months it is only $10 a month after that! And there are great perks to being a member, so make sure you check it out.

I also added a poll to the bottom of the page. If you are in the Fairchild/Spokane area would you please answer that for me! I really want to try and get a workshop of sorts together but want to know if  have anyone interested before I put a lot of effort into it. There would be a charge for the workshop probably around $30-$35 per person which would include materials, access to my equipment (stamps, and cricut machine, etc...), personal work area, and a snack/beverage. The workshop would last approx 3 hours and whatever you make would be yours to take home.  I really think it would be really fun. (PS. For some reason the "D" in the word "would" isn't showing up in the poll question! lol. Just pretend it is there! lol)

Well thanks for sitting through my first post! LOL Sorry if it was long! Be sure to check back soon for something new!! :o)
